From One Act of Love: The Story Behind Our Journey with Mi Amore

That’s how it felt when Grace, a dear friend with a golden heart, gifted us Mi Amore Cat Food last year. It was generous, deeply moving, and beautifully aligned with the life we’ve built here. We are a home—where dogs and cats live alongside us as family.

Our days are filled with rhythms of care, offerings of presence, and the ongoing hope that we are giving enough. Grace’s gift arrived like a warm embrace, bringing comfort, support, and the beginning of a deeply valued connection with Mi Amore.

What we later discovered added even more meaning to this partnership. Mi Amore wasn’t created from a business mindset alone—it began as an act of devotion. The founders are also rescuers. After losing several beloved cats to kidney failure, they uncovered an often-overlooked truth: many commercial cat foods contain excessive sodium or protein levels that compromise a cat’s health over time. That painful insight became a turning point. Mi Amore was created from the heart, with a commitment to feline wellness and thoughtful nourishment.

This intention spoke deeply to my own journey. I’ve always loved animals, but I was more familiar with dogs. Cats came into my life more recently, and over the past four years, I’ve grown into their world. They’ve taught me sensitivity, attunement, and a new way of caring. I began learning about their unique needs—cleaner food, preventive health practices, emotional harmony—and moved slowly into a more holistic approach.

I’m still learning, but with each passing day, that care becomes more integrated. Mi Amore’s offerings helped me nourish them in a way that honors both their physical and emotional well-being.

Since that first gesture from Grace, Mi Amore’s generosity has extended even further. They supported our recent spay and neuter initiatives through the Pawsion Program of New Creation Animal Clinic. These events offered veterinary care and long-term solutions for cat overpopulation in communities that often go underserved. Through Mi Amore’s support, we were able to provide nutritious food to cats post-surgery, ensuring strength during recovery and continued care afterward.

Because of their abundance, I was also able to share this nourishment with solo rescuers and indigent households—guardians who give deeply with what they have. Their work is often unseen, yet vital. Being able to offer something tangible to them—bags of food filled with intention and care—was a way of saying, I see you. We are in this together.

When I watch our cats gather during mealtime—tails lifted, eyes bright, grounded in safety—I think of how this was made possible through connection. Grace’s gift became the spark.
